What I don't understand is people bringing up tour receipts, don't they understand FADING is a different thing?
Artists like Bon Jovi, U2, Bruce Springsteen and old veteran acts have huge tours but do you hear one song of them playing on the radio? an album or single of them smashing on iTunes? They are huge touring forces but they're not on the spotlight and I'm sure Gaga fans want her idol to stay IN.
Gaga is a new artist and she just has a dedicated fanbase right now BUT if she wants to survive she needs to cater to general audiences and casual listeners to stay in the game, just my opinion.

It hasn't even sold 6 million.
U2, Bon Jovi, and Springsteen are also a part of a genre that doesn't get played on the radio at all. They're also old, and as we've seen with Madonna, US radio is as ageist as members of ATRL are.

Also, Bon Jovi and U2's last efforts were back in 09.
However, they all have decades upon decades of smashes that they can tour on. Gaga's tour is successful now, because the handful of hits she's gotten from the past three years are recent enough. But she's still building her catalog, so she needs more to last longer. I think she can, but there's also that margin of error where she might not.
People shouldn't write her off too quickly. But they also shouldn't jump the gun and count their chickens before they hatch.
