Yes...when she moved to the Lower East Side in the 70's, it really was the Lower East Side. Much, much grittier place than it is today. Now it's just rich NYU kids whose parents pay their rent. like another popstar nowadays, no shade towards her.

My parents had actually seen Madonna a few times back then and my mother even has a good guy friend that had some kind of relationship with Madonna. Of course at that time she wasn't really huge yet. But even then no matter what kind of life she lead, no one deserves to be raped.
