to anything resembling fun. Although actually, I think she's realized she's gone too far and she's backtracking. Her recent outfits have felt like TFM refined and toned down. So maybe there is hope yet.
Let's say it as it is: Rihanna is basic. She has no creative input into anything she does, her music is throwaway trash, she's released one good video, her performances are lackluster and her image is generic.
Unlike Madonna there is no sense that there is a driven, determined woman with creative input and a drive to make good music, not just trash thrown at them by producers. Unlike RIhanna's image which is often simply a reflection of what is hot, Madonna's image has always been sexy but was never there to simply allure.
Rihanna never takes risks, she's the second most boring popstar out there, you'll all throw Rated R at me but it was hardly that inspired or different. It had huge hits on it a la Rudeboy.
MTV have crossed the line, they know that Rihanna is one of the most basic bitches in the industry and yet they ass lick her for releasing a single good video.

There are reasons why Madonna is a legend, she defined pop. Rihanna has done nothing on the grand scale of things.

I'm pretty sure Bowie who dabbled into almost every rock/pop genre and created albums that in 10 years time sounded fresh (and some still sound fresh today) is a lot more diverse, creative and talented then a producer's *****.
