@khoukhoun Trouble more than likely won't be the lead (it's being considered though) because the sound isn't very American. There's one track I've heard that SHOULD be the lead single and is under consideration. It's easily her best song to date and has her best vocals to date as well.

@ylva2408 It's under consideration though there's 3 more they're considering as well. Glassheart (title track), Trouble, Fire Flies, and another unannounced track are in the running.

I've got some Leona news directly from Clive Davis!

Today I attended a New York Times arts event in which Clive Davis was the guest and spoke about his life, the music industry, etc. At the end was a Q&A and I was the first to ask a question... obviously about Leona! I asked how he thought Leona should be marketed considering the landscape of Top 40 radio in the US.

He was very excited by the question! He said he was glad I asked because it is his "current project" and he is "very directly involved." He didn't directly address my question about marketing but provided a lot of important info. He said that he was immediately impressed with Leona when he first heard her and never hesitated to guide her career with Simon. He praised the success of her first album (was quoting sales figures both in the US and overseas!) and then, interestingly, said that he understood that "Echo" did not do well, and he attributed that to her desire to co-write. He said "Leona was encouraged to co-write for the 2nd album, which I was surprised by and had mixed feelings about. The album sold quite well overseas but not in America, so we are going back to the drawing board on this album."

He then said a few things about the new record:

1) He has personally sat down with what he called "top producers", specifically mentioning will.i.am, Polow Da Don, and Ryan Tedder and asked them to write their best songs for Leona. He then screens every track and talks them over with Leona.

2) He has high expectations for the album, is very hands-on with the project, and says they already have what he thinks are **"several hits"** recorded and completed.

3) He said the album will be out "soon" (vague, I know) and that he is excited about it and will be a terrific body of work!

I think RCA is gonna push this one hard. Seems like it is a priority project for Clive and he went on about how much he appreciates Leona's talent and also noted her ability to fill the O2.I very much get the impression that he wants that level of success for her here in the states.

I really think this is gonna be a big era!!

But I don't like the fact that he partly blames Leona's co-writing for the lack of success Echo had. In my opinion she proved she is a really good writer (Happy).
