i havent checked for showings actually , i hope there are. im checking today. whenever i go at midnight i usually buy tickets the day of it since i dont live in a huge city
ok, i know i'm not actively participating in this thread (which is a shame really but i'm all over the place the past few months) but i saw a free screening with my friends last night and i wanted to weigh in.
the movie is good and it was a lot of fun watching it. they included a lot more material from the books than i thought a first movie in a series they weren't sure was gonna draw in a big audience would. and a lot of foreshadowing for future sequels, probably in case the movie doesn't make enough money at least they included important details. i felt there was a fair amount of extra scenes outside of what Clary experiences in order to help the movie flow and to help smooth some rough edges, as well as a fair amount of songs by other artists that also blended very well with their respected scenes. i think the actors did a good job too. there were obviously low points of the movie, but i think the pros outweighed the cons. all in all it's good movie and if i hadn't read the books i would've been very satisfied and excited if City of Ash was to ever be announced.

Actually they start filming COA this fall. Expect it to be released sometime next spring-summer. Glad you enjoyed it. How did people react to the shocker at the end?
