"Good seller" is not the same as "seller deserving of lots of weeks at #1."
"Fairly popular," sure. Still not the same thing, esp as it's the 2nd lowest peaking #1 in streaming since Youtube was incorporated, after Just Give Me a Reason, back in early 2013 when streaming was still settling in as a component.
It has radio DJ support to brag about mainly. Huzzah.

Even if a song sells 80,000 copies for 8 weeks, if it's the #1 seller for all of those weeks

But that hasn't happened. So far Weeknd has one hit that never cracked the sales T5, a hit that hasn't topped sales yet, and a hit that topped sales for 3 weeks most of which were virtual ties with Cheerleader which subsequently took the H100 #1 cuz it was stronger elsewhere.
I see the sole inhabitant of my ignore list has piped in with their usual level of discourse on the last page.

#1s are all about timing. CFMF isn't a very strong #1, but it was clearly the biggest song in the country in those 3 weeks it was at #1
The 3 weeks he was at #1 vs the #2
CFMF
134k sales, 152M airplay, 15.4M streams
Cheerleader
129k sales, 144M airplay, 16M streams
CFMF
~117k sales, 150M airplay, 13.6M streams
Cheerleader
86k sales, 131M airplay, 14.1M streams
CFMF
~110k sales, 149M airplay, 17.5M streams
The Hills
~116k sales, 94M airplay, 21.1M streams
Not sure what you are unhappy about tbh

Love Taylor and her music but her fans truly are the worst since to them sales are only impressive when she is selling a lot and on top of the charts, and then sales are week when she is not doing as well. Smh.....

You really need to let it go.
I'm not even a big Abel fan and I think his success is dumbfounding, but he earned those hits based on the formula Billboard set just like every artist who obtained hits on Billboard. Him having "weak" hits is subjective and relative to whatever is popular at the moment. The fact is, his songs were among the biggest hits in America. It's not even that serious. Taylor needs a good flop to knock some of her fans into reality.

Here for Hotline Bling I think it's going top 10 next week. I think Taylor will have to wait to enter. Unless she has some big promo coming out its going to peak in the lower half of the top 10.

That makes no sense and sounds like you're trolling just b/c you want to pick at me.
The numbers are much lower now which is why sales are weak, not b/c She's not on top.
If She was selling 120k or w/e each week, sales wouldn't be impressive.
Are all the other people who have commented on the weak sales atmosphere just Taylor fans being "the worst," even when they're not Taylor fans, or is this just you trying to lash at me? Hmm.
A million in a week for an album? Yes, impressive.
4 200k+ weeks for Grammy Blood? Yes, Impressive.
If Weeknd sold a million in a week for his album? Yes, it would be impressive.
If he had 200k+ weeks for 4 weeks for a song? Yes, it would be impressive.
It's not like I'm saying Wildest Dreams is a sales hit. So byeee.
I would never argue that Katy's smash hits are unimpressive even though I hate her, b/c their sales were in fact impressive.
I would never say Bass was unimpressive in sales even though I hate it for what it did, b/c I hate it for being so big despite the quality diff w/SIO.

Honestly, you're my favourite poster on this site.
And NEVER EVER forgive Bass for its crimes against Taylor.

Imagine if "Thinking Out Loud" and its numbers were at their peak right now. Sheeran would be head and shoulders above everyone at #1.

I noticed they stopped about the same time we found out their formula lol. Now HDD has quit giving the Top Ten Digital Songs with totals too. Worthless POS website doing nothing about bitching about Billboard but now with HDD refusing to give its readers the info it promised to start giving because BB wouldn't give them anymore. **** them!

And if it's b/c sales are sad and they don't wanna talk about them anymore, couldn't they give #s for, say, the streaming T10 or somethin', if those numbers are upping each month?

Yawn another sales debate in the hot 100 thread.
Anyway, poor Taylor and Demi. I really don't want Drake to go Top 10 next week even though he might because that means he'll have 14 Top 10's. 1 more than Katy and Gaga He does't deserve that.

I keep track of Spotify numbers and can provide monthly figures starting tomorrow!
Weekly charts are posted in the Spotify thread.
