Not true......
The only reason Ciara's career went down hill is because she kept pushing back the release of Fantasy Ride, and she kept releasing weak single after weak single. PLUS, the album cover didn't do the album any justice. People thought it was tacky and embarrassing.
Go Girl (Which was picked as the lead single at the time) was a disappointment because the song was heavily auto tuned and people didn't really respond well to that.
Never Ever was a disappointment because her fans wanted something more club-esque and the song didn't really sound like a hit at the time. In top of all that, Ciara was facing this fake beef with Beyonce and the beyhive were going on a rampage.
By the time Love Sex Magic was released, about 80% of her album had leaked and people were already off board from buying it because they already heard it.
Also, think about the era we were in during that time. Youtube had just become popular, and records leaking was JUST starting to become a common thing, and with people being able to download songs on filesharing websites like limewire, it effected artists that were releasing albums at the time, therefore reflecting on the success of their records.
Ciara never really had a huge fan base, Fantasy Ride was going to be the IT album of her career that was going to take her to the next level (kind of like how Good Girl Gone Bad did for Rihanna) but because of the messy era that was Fantasy Ride, Ciara lost her chance and that's when she started getting thrown under the bus.
