Actually HWR is not really into them - they never let more than 1 RM single from 1 album, on the last album[& on AYWR] didnt even let a RM song to become a single...

This is probably her decision. She probably couldn't find a way out of her contract, so she's making this to fulfill her obligations. It will probably include a new song or two, and have one single that flops. The next real era will be under a new label.

Christy carlson romano released a greatest hits album back in the day, but that was bcasue all she had was singles, put on various soundtracks and it made it possible to get all of her song in one plalce, even unreleased ones.

It's not just about having successful singles though. A greatest hits album should be an album full of HITS that are still played years after initial success. Her only hits are Naturally, Come & Get It, Who Says and Hit The Lights. For her to be able to fill the tracklist she is going to have to put on every single plus Wizards of Waverly place tracks . The point is Selena would be better off releasing one more studio album, making a good crack at it and actually build more hits than just releasing a poor GH album which will have poor promotion anyway.

If you would read ANY of this thread, you'd know she's only doing this to get out of her contract with HWR. She has 8 hit singles and she'll add 3 or so new songs on it. Stop acting like this is a terrible idea because she's more qualified to do this than most people in the industry right now.
