Interscope is a mess though when picking singles. I remember during 2006-2008 when Interscope leaked songs by artists like Keri Hilson, Nicole Scherzinger among others to see the reception online, because they weren't sure about certain songs

I agree. Gaga is coming from her My December and it would've been smarter to release an instant smash like My life would suck. After coming from the lack of underperforamnce of Artpop, she needed to kinda "sell out" on her self proclaimed non mainstream songs only so that she could establish her stability now and then she can do whatever the hell she wants.

She's trying to reinvent her image at the moment, but I honestly think it's too early. It's imo too early in her career to say "**** the charts, I'll release what I want". Like I feel you have to earn that with some stability and longevity first.
