Its ok. No, nothing in particular, I think this started when Celestial asked, if God exists then why does he let people suffer and other bad things. Then I said there is no way we would know his reasons in the first place if he existed. Then he brought up the Holocaust when I talked about how death can have benefits for the planet etc etc. My viewpoint is very Nihilistic though, definitely not the mainstream

Well during the Age of Enlightenment, a philosophical mentality manifested itself - Deism - whose followers believe God created the world and ended his influence there. Meaning he's not influencing anything that is going on. That would certainly explain gruesome events like the Holocaust. The next question would be what the point of praying is in that case.

If you do believe he is interfering with events and has a plan, it is really shocking that something like that could have happened, considering it's against most of the commandments and everything Religion is supposed to stand for.

I'm not a proponent of religion, though that doesn't mean I don't think a God exists. For all we know, every religion could be wrong. I don't know how I feel about Deism.
