Merry Christmas! The participants had to send in a song that was a collaboration between their artist and another. Some contestants had an easy time this round, while others had to search high and low for a collaboration. Please try to vote based on how the duo/trio blend together, and the quality of the song.
Jake - Katy Perry - "Who You Love (feat. John Mayer)"

write-up not required due to immunity
Poxy - Madonna - "4 Minutes (feat. Justin Timberlake and Timbaland)"
Quote:
Madonna is not known for collaborations, until recently , but prior to this 2008 hit single, she's only really worked with Britney Spears and Prince. So between the Nicki Minaj and MIA collaboration, this single obviously is the better choice. There's not much explanation needed except that this song is a BOP as is the whole Hard Candy album, despite what haters might state. While obviously not the most exquisitely written song ever, it's just a fun dance song with an undeniably good hook.
MLD - Miley Cyrus - "SMS (Bangerz) [feat. Britney Spears]"
Quote:
Miley has done a ton of collabarations, but nothing as fierce as SMS. Collabarating with the Legendary Miss Britney Spears paid off. Not only did they both do their thing on the track, but both of them were able to stand out on the track, which is good because the majority of Miley's collabarations are all about her stealing the spotlight (such as 23, Fall Down & Real and True)
♥jONE731♥ - Taylor Swift - "The Last Time (feat. Gary Lightbody)"
Quote:
This is a song about a couple who've hurt each other in the past, but mainly he's hurt her. it seems that he's left her many times before just to get come back to her, for whatever reason he can't stay away from her and this song from his perspective is an apology from him to her, when he says "This is the last time" it's meant as saying I promise not to hurt you again.
At the same time, she's been badly hurt by him many times before, and then he comes back and she can't help forgiving him, just for him to do the same thing all over again.
This is indeed a song that suits the best for this round for her, the lyrics and the song is
Legend E - Kelly Clarkson - "Don't You Wanna Stay (feat. Jason Aldean)"
Quote:
This song is one of the most important ones for the fans, but for Kelly too. Jason invited her to sing this duet and here it is, the best selling collaboration in country music ever. Everything is perfect in this song. Their voices sound angelic together.
Euphorae - Christina Aguilera - "Lady Marmalade (feat. P!nk, Lil Kim, and Mya)"
Quote:
LADY MARMALADE has undeniably defined Pop Culture. With all due respect, this version is probably more memorable than the original (the great Patti Labelle). It signifies the moment when a group of 4/5 women who have achieved a lot, in many aspects, brought together by the rich language of music. The fact that the video is uploaded onto Christina's VEVO and she's always credited first just says everything you need to know. She took this collab to new heights, and that's why she got the best part. Nevertheless, all these girls came together to honour music and what it stands for. I can't really put into words how incredible Lady Marmalade is so forgive this messy ass explanation. Just listen to the song, watch the music video, and you'll see what I mean.
Probably the most revered collaboration of the millennium.
Lucky#17 - Ke$ha - "Timber (feat. Pitbull)"
Quote:
This is an absolute perfect collaboration. Flawless artists. Flawless production. Flawless lyrics. Flawless everything! With the song currently dominating the charts, Ke$ha shows signs of a true comeback in which she’s here to let people know SHE IS NAWT MESSING AROUND! With “Timber”, she steps up to the plate to sing a chorus for a Western-themed party anthem, unlike any other song she’s released as a single before, serving flawless vocals and making the track all around successful. Kween K$ claims another hit
Nasiir15 - Nicki Minaj - "Moment 4 Life (feat. Drake)"
Quote:
This basically speaks for itself. Everyone loves this song because it's a feel good song and it's relatable. Put your drinks up
It's a celebration every time we link up
We done did everything they could think of
Greatness is what we on the brink of
K$Ellie - Ellie Goulding - "I Need Your Love (feat. Calvin Harris)"
Quote:
I Need You Love is produced by Calvin Harris and sang by Ellie Goulding. The songs features Ellie but is on both of their albums (18 Months and Halcyon ) It's Ellie's first Vevo certified music video
rl231 - OneRepublic - "Lost Then Found (feat. Leona Lewis)"
Quote:
This song is very beautiful. It talks about how love can be, per the title, lost then found. It says that love can be restored and changed from something bad into something good, something that people will want to have. It feel like, with this song, that it is more of a duet then a feature for OneRepublic because they are just as prominent as Leona is in this song.
Georges - Rihanna - "Take Care (feat. Drake)"
Quote:
Drake and Rihanna really delivered on this one, it's one of the best singles of the year. They sing about the past relationship and how they come to each other to heal their wounds. It's a downtempo with a killer piano beat and really good production.
As for the video, it is very minimalist but effective and emotional.
fiercE - Maroon 5 - "Moves Like Jagger (feat. Christina Aguilera)"
Quote:
I chose this song because I really like this song
iHypeMusic - Mariah Carey - "Up Out My Face (feat. Nicki Minaj)"
Quote:
For this challenge, I chose the surprise -- "Up Out My Face" w/ Nicki Minaj. This collaboration is iconic in so many ways -- do I even have to explain? Them going hard, being a cute duo, doing Idol together, and turning. This is one of the most iconic collaborations of Mariah's career. Everybody knows of this + it's recent.
CrazyCat - P!nk - "Just Give Me a Reason (feat. Nate Ruess)"
Quote:
Probably one of the most beautiful collabrations of 2013. P!nk's and Nate's voices fit so well together, they are such terrific vocalists. I really think that JGMAR was made for these two artists, because they both really can sign those high notes, as we seen on storytellers I just think that this song is fantastic, also the best collab of 2013. Both did a great job. The video was also very nice, and did song even more justice. This song overall is one of the better collabs of 21st century. It was everywhere on radios, on tv, on billboards hot 100 top spot, and well this track will be remembered for sure.
TheSeenScene - Britney Spears - "Me Against the Music (feat. Madonna)"
Quote:
Everyone on ATRL likes to throw around the term 'iconic', but this collaboration is the epitome of iconic. Two pop queens coming together to release an absolute banger of a song, bringing together two different stanbases in the process. Easily the biggest and best collaboration in Britney's discography.
Emyro - Lana Del Rey - "Summer Wine (feat. Barrie-James O'Neill)"
Quote:
She doesn't have a lot of collaborations. But this one is my favorite from them all, you can feel the chemistry they have as a couple (a real one). I love this so much.
For this challenge, I chose 'Requiem Solution" by Kleerup featuring Loreen. I chose the song because it brings together the interesting, seemingly-minimalist production style of Kleerup, and the elegant, haunting vocals of Loreen, to form a chillingly beautiful song. I also chose it because I felt most people would simply go with a 2-singer collaboration, or a rap/sung collaboration, so I felt a Producer/Singer collaboration would stand out.
Mr. Loco - Eminem - "Stan (feat. Dido)"
Quote:
This song is just really epic by itself, but with the collaboration part coming from Dido's "Thank You", it makes it into a great masterpiece, and one of my personal favorite songs ever. The way the two songs match perfectly into one it's just flawless and turns this into a collaboration that has stand the proof of time.
#GENETIQUE - Marina and the Diamonds - "Just Desserts (feat. Charli XCX)"
Quote:
Charli XCX has always looked up to Marina and the Diamonds as her biggest inspiration and the one who paved the way for her in the music industry. That is why when news of the two collaborating broke out, the music world trembled with excitement. The two came up with a song about a bitter ex who got what he deserves... and the whole world was slayed!
Starships - Demi Lovato - "We'll Be a Dream (feat. We the Kings)"
Quote:
This amazingly beautiful song. Demi's vocals work greatly with the pop/rock genre and the arrangement done by We the Kings creates a beautiful record. This collaboration remains one of the best songs We the Kings recorded. Also, look at how young and beautiful Demi looked during her verse and while she SLAYS those high notes and belts in the bridge! The video is adorable too.
