Not saying it's a bad thing, it happens to every artist. You can't expect someone to stay at an enormous rate for their entire career. Even Michael didn't do that. And peanut let's not act like the gap between #2 and #3 weren't affected by the rise of illegal downloading. It's all good though! And yes, Gaga will remain consistent with being a top seller, which wil eventually add her to the record books.

So what is the final verdict on TFM? Is it a re-release of The Fame (counting towards the latter's tally) or is it a entire new album that shall be counted separately?

Yeah, I know. Although it's a nice reminder for certain stans who like to pretend nothing changed in the market between 2000 and the present.

It still baffles me that anyone would have expected Gaga's sales to increase substantially from the average of her first two eras.

It's a mess.

I've always maintained that it's just fair to say she had what would basically have been two 7-8m albums back-to-back.
