For me, Scarlet Witch was the clear stand-out character. Her, Hawkeye and (suprisingly) War Machine. The best scene in the movie is the one between Hawkeye and Wanda that has been teased in the trailer and contains at least one line that will be quoted from here-on until eternity.

The third act is ****ing amazing. The action climax is a well-known problem of modern blockbusters and, Whedon absolutely knocks it out of the park. Even if you’ve seen all the trailers, you won’t know exactly what will be happening and the final fights are a joy to watch. They are also very intelligently written and far from the disaster **** we’re so used to seeing. Even the end fight in the first Avengers, while great fun, wasn’t much more than a big CGI extravaganza. This one has a real weight that I haven’t seen in any summer blockbuster since The Dark Knight Rises. And everything the producers have said in criticism of “Oh, a million people died, but we won, yay!”-movies must have been very instrumental in the production process.
Oh yeah, by the way, it’s the best Marvel movie so far and my second favourite movie of the year at the moment, behind It Follows.
Edit: One thing I'd like to add because I just watched the first trailer again. It's absolutely incredibly how little of that footage made it into the film in the end. Of the first 25 seconds, I recall seeing about 5 in the movie. The dialogue's different too.
