Sorry to hear, Ammer. But like you said, you are still young, and have tons of time...who knows what could happen. You seem to have a good attitude about it, which is the most important. Who knows? Maybe this was meant to be, and you will discover something even better?

True but at the same time, there are certain patterns and technically I think it is human nature to rationalize everything we can

Well, I didn't get into the PhD program.
Over 100 people applied, and I was not in the Top 5 (Top 10 instead). And since they only accepted 5 people, I was rejected.
I feel a bit weird, and excited. This is the first time I've been stopped in my tracks school wise. I mean, I went from undergrad to graduate school without a problem.
On the plus side, I may be able to get in if I get the grant I applied for in March. I'm going to have to fight a bit, but I think it's possible.
In any case, taking time off to work for a year, and make money isn't so bad. I can apply again.
After all, I'm only 23 so I do have time. But still. Kinda sucks.
|
I'm sorry
Good luck getting the grant, at least.
You can always earn more money, haha.

I got my exam results on Tuesday for the exams I sat in January. I was expecting to barely pass 4/5 of them that I sat, but ended up barely passing 1 and getting Firsts in the other 4
Also while I was getting my results, I walked into my tutors office and she had my twitter profile on her screen She told me that I had to have a meeting with this other lady about my recent twitter activity

I don't know
I made a joke a few days ago about my insanely hot Statistics tutor bending me over one of the lab desks, but we're both consenting adults I'm scared of tweeting now lol.

Just tell them it was a joke. It's not like you said your teacher was "A **** who deserved to die." or something even more extreme.

Nah I'm just gonna say it's my business and I can say what I want in my own time. If they don't like what they see they shouldn't be looking

Best of luck! What are you studying? I mean, are you in a field where they stress professionalism in the public eye? If not, I don't get why they would creep your Twitter...

Pretty much looking at how accurate data is and if a solution can be found based on the data alone, supported by my analysis.

I may have missed it if you mentioned it previously, but in what field?

There are a lot of educational and professional fields who look at how you come off publically because if you are part of that school or company, officially, you can come off representing them and people can think it's them who agree.
Just make your twitter private or make it harder to find by using a different email address and not your full name.

I'm doing Business Management but they never interfere with personal affairs. I'll find out on Monday anyway, it might be a good thing

Spring Break!
While all of my friends are partying it up on the beautiful sand beaches of Cuba, I'm stuck in this frozen hell hole. Our winter has been really mild so I shouldn't complain too much but still.

Thanks guys
I definitely think this opens a new year of experiences for me. I'm scared, nervous, excited, and a bit sad (I mean, I didn't get in) but I'm hoping for the best
Hopefully the grant pulls through and I can get in that way. If not, I can at least work and make money!
