I don't get it everyone i know! Couldn't care about less about the song!
Katy can enjoy her #1s. She's a singles artist like Flo Rida, Ke$ha, Jason Derulo, etc. They have weak album sales which means they won't last long anyways.
Katy outsold Flo Ridas and Jasons total album sales with Teenage Dream 1st week sales. Her Album sold 1.3 million and its still selling.plese

If Chris Brown is still here then, Katy, Flo Rida, Ke$ha and Jason Derulo will be relevant even longer.
Ikr. How many 4th singles get a banner and a new release with a major name like Kanye's? *shakeno*.
Youre only proving my point earlier. Why must some Gaga stans make up excuses for another one's success but when it comes to her , nothing happened? I've seen this in the radio thread, itunes thread, and now Hot 100 thread.
1.) The song was performed on American Idol. The difference between SM and BTW before the performance was 8% for the main version. After the performance it went down to less than 1% , and since the wear off, its now 11+%. Without this alone would have made ET go #1.
2.) She released remixes to itunes. A similar katy perry strategy, but gaga had several remixes helping her chart.
3.) She released it physically which is not common for artists to do in the U.S.
Please stop being hypocritical. It's quite annoying.
Just proves my fav don't need hit singles to move albums...
Singles were not a huge market in the Soundscan era until the emergence of iTunes (at least not in the US). Record companies decreased the availability of singles to drive album sales. Obviously, it worked.
Fergie did it with her 4th single, it's nothing new
I can't at you saying a 4th single going #1 is more impressive than the longest run at the #1 spot for a debut in 14 years.
They can downplay all they want... BTW has broken records and ha done so much thus far... some of you guys have not even been around for 14 years... you know after 14 years in the music industry, this is a HUGE accomplishment
