I follow Australia's iTunes thoroughly and I saw it get close but never go all the way, so if it did, it must have been quick and then proceeded to decrease at a fast pace. (Which would be plausible since once it peaked it fell quite a lot and fast too)

Me too i always follow Australian iTunes , it was #1 definitely , the moment where you seen it close was the moment it dropped. Im australian BTW
I don't want to speak too soon, but maybe it's because those who intend to purchase the song, have already. So the video won't do much...especially a video like it is. I can see it as a turnoff for the general buyer.
Though I don't like the video, I do adore the song so I hope for a Top 5 peak...but it won't happen at this point so I won't get too zealous.
^Cry Me Out only charted at #12 but it actually sold more or less the same as her two #1s it was just a climber and out at a competitive time but Gravity charted low despite the high airplay. Turn it Up was looking to peak outside the top 40 before, thank god for BGT!
"Miss Me" has fallen pretty fast. I wonder why Drake's songs have little longevity in the top tier on the iTunes charts. The single will definitely fall out of the top 20 on the Hot 100 in its second week.
