I don't much about US holidays, but doesn't the holiday season when people buy things start in mid-November?

Y'all are doing the most. She'll still have a more successful era than ARTPOP, Unapologetic, Britney Jean, etc.
Like, first week, front-loaded sales mean nothing. Katy is an artist about longevity and not 1,000,000 first week, then dropping off into oblivion.

Decent #s but never in my life have I seen this much time, effort, money and talent being invested into someone as basic as Katy Perry. This bitch is coming off the most promoted era of all time with billions of AI not to mention a movie devoted to how awesomely relatable and talented she is, she has a safe, eager-to-please-everyone image and music professionally engineered for the masses, she has 200M+ AI from Roar alone, her "cure cancer and buy Prism" radio ads have been nonstop all month, her TV commercials for Walmart aka the biggest music retailer in the US have been nonstop all month, iTunes even gave her a countdown to Prism on its front page all month, every radio station literally dropped everything all day yesterday and made it Katy Perry Day…and she's struggling to hit 300K? Total media saturation: radio, TV, print, billboards…and she's struggling to hit 300K?

I don't get the hate, these aren't bad sales Nobody was expecting her to do big numbers besides the ones who wanted to see her fail. She improved, and that's all that matters.

Too much stock is put into first week sales. What's the point of having a high first week if 50% of its total sales comes from it's first week. (Sounds familiar doesn't it) Katy is known for longevity, she'll be fine.

To be honest, with her single sales album sales aren't even that important. Roar has earned Katy and Capitol the equivalent of 350k albums in the US already. If she can milk another 50 Million single sales (equivalent of 5 Million albums) out of Prism as with Teenage Dream then I think she'll be having the last laugh.
Then hopefully she sticks to her word and abandons pop for Acoustic Rock with her next album and I never have to deal with you lot trolling her again.

i honestly expected more. I think her stans genuinely didnt. Thats probably what matters most. Its just she has all this crazy promo, in the face of the gp everywhere they turn and still she can't pull in impressive numbers

So many haters in here lol.
300k is great, and yes, she is huge since her last era, so what?
100K improvement is a lot in these days. She will end up with 3 million sold in the US.
Something most of your faves can dream of nowadays .
And Rihanna and Britney stans should shut the hell up, look how their last albums opened, lmao.

That is really great for an artist of her caliber! On the flip side, those are downright dreadful numbers for a label of that caliber.

I understand you're doing the math to work this out but that doesn't quite add up to an accurate portrait of the situation. Keeping in mind that a single is sold WAY easier than an album, and that a single is often bought by people who would never dream of purchasing her whole album, you must take into account that it is not as simple as diving the cost of the album from the amount made from singles.
But I get it if you are just providing how much money she'll make.

Prism has 16 tracks. So u mean Roar has sold : 350k x 16 = 5.6 Million copies?

Considering that Teenage Dream is sitting at number 83 on the worldwide albums chart 3 years on meanwhile Born This Way is nowhere to be found in the top 250, I don't think Katy has anything to worry about
