Yes, the production on YM(E) could've been stripped back but to say that she is following suit with her other songs is a little bit of a reach especially since she has worked with different producers. I also don't understand how YM(E) is anything like she has released recently. I wouldnt mind if the new singles sounded from the 90s though kii. I think most ha stans will agree. Its the continous WBT, I Stay In Love, Bye Bye, Angels Cry, HATUE.... hell even Betcha Gon Know which is a great song has that awful clapping.... so far back as TGIFY or earlier. Its dated and annoying.

Agreed. It just feels like they're cynically trying to follow a formula. There has been no spontaneity or that spirit of personal connection that TEOM had. And I think it's a subtle turnoff. Hence the declining sales album after album.
