Well... I'm let down.
I did like the battle, but there was nothing really epic about it (except for the giant ****ing scythe sliding down and slicing ****** up). The giants and mammoths were cool but... eh. It wasn't nearly as exciting as the Battle of Blackwater. And, since they've barely shown the wall at all this season, I didn't remember any names bar Jon, Sam, Gilly, Ygritte, and Alliser Thorne. And I'm a book reader!
Visually, it was great, but not stunning (again, like Blackwater)... I guess I just had my expectations too high. (HBO definitely overhyped this ep). Plus, I kept waiting for
Stannis to come in
and then that NEVER happened. Like, we spent fifty minutes on this goddamn battle and couldn't even resolve it? Really? They already have so much next to do next ep, I thought for sure they would fully resolve this battle. Sigh.
That said, I LOVED
Ygritte
's death. I've hated that annoying
ginger bitch
ever since we first met her. One of only three characters I truly hate (along with Lysa

and Bran). Good. Riddance!
I'm nervous for next week though, like HOW are they going to fit in:
-
Stannis saving the day
at the wall
-Arya
going to Braavos
-Dany's dragons (which have been shown in previews
-Tyrion + the resolution at King's Landing
-Bran (assuming
The Children refers to... yeah)
-The cliffhanger we're all expecting
Even if they cut Brienne, Sansa, and the Greyjoys, it still seems like they have way too much for 66 minutes!
