I'm happy she's doing this now in her career. She's still new, but established. She has the power to influence and inspire a lot of young people without too much risk. Yes there are a lot of inspirational songs out there right now, but Gaga has a spark about her to make young kids ~feel cool~ or comfortable about themselves.
On one hand I hate how there is no subtleness in the lyrics, but on another I'm happy there's no hiding behind the lyrics. She really spelt the message out unapologetically.
In the end, the production will make or break this song. I can already feel how fast and upbeat this will be. If the production is on point, it will really grow on people.

As a celebrity and well established artist, you have the power to shape and influence the cultures around you and promoting equality among EVERYONE in a secular song that EVERYONE can enjoy should be applauded.
I really like both artists and don't like it when all the good sises bash one another. I'm sure plenty others feel the same.
I have faith. Supposedly the second single was the "Slave 4 U meets 2011", "Repetition like Get Naked" song that the dancers were talking about. Jive made it a toss up between the TBA second single and HIAM and decided to go with HIAM.
Circus got old so fast. She needs a song that brings it like Slave & sounds fresh for months on end. HIAM did not do that for me (none of her songs have for a long time).

Born This Way will be near the end of its chart run by May (if it smashes). She needs something fresh out by May to rekindle more interest (which will be extremely high anyway - but a new single definently helps).
