Queen of Pop's slayage is really a mystery I'm too young to witness her slayage in 80s and 90s.

The first time that I heard of the name MADONNA is when my mom saw Frozen on MTV and she was like "Is that MADONNA?!". She was very surprised so I was thinking in my head "Who is MADONNA?"

I gotta say that my mom really loves and admires MADONNA for whatever she has done and pulled in her career. Now I'm a Madead stan too

I suppose all things are relative in this relative world, but back then the ceiling was a lot lower. Even in the late 90s the #1 song in airplay might have 80-90 million impressions. My Heart Will Go On was the first song to break 100 million at the radio. I wish the numbers were readily available but I always suspected that Erotica amassed something like 55-60 million impressions in its first week, which *feels* easier to grasp even if achieving that in 1992 had the same degree of difficulty as... hitting 120 million in the first week today.
