Yeah we had this synopsis for Freak Show in late March of last year.

Set in Jupiter, Florida, in 1950, Freak Show finds Jessica Lange playing a German ex-pat who is managing one of the last freak shows in the U.S. Her group of “unusuals”? Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, and Frances Conroy all play performers whom Lange’s character has rescued; Denis O’Hare and Emma Roberts are also in talks to return. Freak Show’s 13 episodes will track this group as they do anything to keep their business around.

It's just and all we know is the majority of the cast, and that it takes place in a Hotel.

After the camp directions that both Coven and Freak Show went in (Freak Show was just as camp as Coven; not in the bitchy!~ way but it was still very kitsch), I genuinely think he's more interested in Scream Queens than this at the moment. That seems to be something he wanted to do. I thought perhaps he could put his comedic energy into SQ and then put a focus on horror here, but he might have just gotten absorbed in SQ's idea entirely.

This definitely has more hype generated around it than SQ just from the fact that it's the fifth season, and still minimal information. That's concerning. And I hope none of y'all come @ me with "But the IMDb insider!"

FX’s fifth American Horror Story will be “very different,” FX Networks CEO John Landgraf told TVLine Sunday at the Television Critics Association winter press tour.

Landgraf went on to say of the franchise, “One of the things I love so much about that is that it can be radically, radically reinvented in terms of tone, setting, period, characters, cast.” And along those lines, “I think there’s going to be an unusually large reinvention in between Book 4 and Book 5 relative to, say, between Book 3 [Coven] and 4 [Freak Show].

Yeah I do think Ryan is focusing more on Scream Queens this year than AHS, but that might be a good thing. Brad and Tim can take over the reigns a bit and hopefully the bitchy camp will be in SQ and AHS will regain some of the true horror.

But as far as the release of info goes, each year is totally different when it comes to what we know at what time. This season is looking like Asylum, based on what we have so far. July 2012 is when Ryan released the time period and a bit more of the plot, and even by then we didn't know the complete cast.

If anything waiting longer to release info is a good thing, we just aren't used to this with Ryan.

I'm gonna be in LA from the 5th to the 17th of July. Too early for production, but I'm gonna be at UCLA for a screenwriting camp so lemme demand they hunt down Ryan, give him my scripts, and eventually hand the reigns of AHS over to ME.
