recently she said label ddn't want to release migrate and they practically made her release IWKWLI. That definitely sound svery controlling to me, when label does something artist doesn't want. Remember TMB vs That Chick situation?

No, we don't need LA reid. Yes, he was helpful BACK THEN. I repeat: BACK then, in 2005. Just like majority of people she worked with used to be good and cool but they are irrelevant these days and don't make good cool music anymore. And this song kind of proves that, she's stuck with the old dated sound (kind of).

Look at beyonce, she practically found brand new producer who did the most of her work. When on earth will mariah and will she ever.

Now this is only partially true. I don't know which interview it was anymore but she lately stated she thought the video turned out okay or something like that. So apparently she's quite aware that this video, let's say, is not among her best.

Mariah prioritizes since she's a mother know and has to fire nannies like that, and I respect that. I don't expect her to do a gigantic promo tour but I think she could try a little, just a little more. And yet I think her label is more to blame for this underachievement. To put all in one basket by doing radio promo only was stupid and totally not what I expected after the good kick-off.

However, YM(E) doesnt even have the same format as any song she's released in a while. It only has one verse, a prechorus and a chorus. Is that similar to WBT? The only thing people can say is similar is her signature going off towards the end of the song.

Let's separate what she's doing musically from what she and her team are doing promotion wise. Yes, they have not properly promoted this song and there appears to be little plans to do so as of this moment. Why did they decide to release something and only promote it in the first 10 days or so? I have absolutely no idea.

Oh I agree. This makes me think it's not JD that's the issue. It's her personal taste that's keeping that clapping sounds alive no matter who she works with

I don't necessarily agree that these productions are "garbage." Yes, the production on YM(E) could've been stripped back but to say that she is following suit with her other songs is a little bit of a reach especially since she has worked with different producers. I also don't understand how YM(E) is anything like she has released recently. All of the recent singles (including the buzz ones, the Disney one, and lead single) all are extremely different both in texture, lyrics and production.

Like I said, if you want to look back at her catalog from 1990, you are bound to find songs that sound alike but let's not use her vast repertoire of great music against her.
