All of this. But I think her favorite surface was clay...maybe I'm mistaken or something? But either way her strengths do very well on grass so it won't be a rollover for Azarenka IF MJMS is on but I don't see it going to 3 sets at all, even if Vika plays bad like yesterday
EDIT: Just as I thought. She has won 4 of her 5 titles in singles on clay. Her best GS doubles result was the French Open Semifinals this year and she also reached her best GS result in singles this year on clay at the French, 3rd round.
EDIT 2: The rain has stopped!
Well, time will tell. Surely Azarenka will be the favorite, but maybe MJMS could shake things up a bit.
It's not just the serve and volleying (and great volleying in overall) that makes grass a great surface for MJMS, but also her groundstrokes (flat backhand and forehand with slight topspin) and slice (I remember she has a good drop shot as well) work really well on it. I haven't seen her playing for a long, long time, but when she played her best tennis, her game was actually very impressive.
She played Ivanovic at Wimbledon earlier this year and she was atrocious. Her game just doesn't match up well with grass; doesn't possess the athleticism required at the net and serve is too weak to consistently get her there.
Serena & Venus better get their doubles match in. Worst comes to worst they should surely put it on centre after the Sharapova/Robson match. I'm not here for 2 doubles matches and a singles for Serena tomorrow.
