Second, 2 million singles for Thankful
Third, 7.7 million singles for Stronger
Fourth...... Are you really comparing between albums from a decade ago?
And for your information, Stronger is Kelly's second best charting Album after Breakaway. Thankful fell of the charts on week 50. Stronger is on week 47 now and will probably still be on the chart by the end of the year.
Stronger also been in the Top 50 of the billboard 200 more then Thankful, All I Ever Wanted and My December.
Charting wise, Stronger is Kelly's most successful album on the Billboard 200 after Breakaway. If Stronger was released in 2002 it would for sure sell the same amount of Thankful and probably even more.

According to your logic it is better having an album selling 4K copies a week, while staying inside the top 100 for weeks on end; rather than having an album smash inside the top ten for a couple of months and then begin to fade out in time for a new album release.
Kevin do you work for RCA ?
For me I'd prefer a
sustained upper peak, which Kelly hasn't had since Breakaway.
