If you want to get technical, "Marry You" was a much, MUCH bigger flop in the US compared to "Mirror". Of course, it also wasn't released in the US. Even still, "Mirror" went top 20 in the US. It's a "flop" in the sense that every other true single he's been involved in has reached top ten, but it's not a flop otherwise.

Having a music video is nothing to do with a song being "released". Lots of album tracks get music videos, and lots of official singles don't get music videos (especially with Lil Wayne's singles).

Usually the best way to tell is if the song gets a remix EP released, and if it gets sent to radio by the record label (so, you're right, Mirror does count as it got sent to radio).

Marry You didn't get released in the US at all iirc. Maybe because Lighters was so massive they didn't bother with Marry You. But it got promoted in the UK as a single, and did really well.

Mirror was released to Urban and Rhythmic as the 5th official single from Tha Carter IV and also got a music video ! The song went Top 20 on Hot 100 and is Waynes most successful single internationally ... Yeah it didn't do so well in the US because it was never sent to Pop. The big problem was that How To Love was still hot on Pop so Wayne waited to release another single to Pop radio and at the time Wayne had How To Love & She Will on Urban, Rhythmic and Pop so there was no room for Mirror to get any spotlight

By the time the video was released it had already died on radio
