I think it just sounds rushed. The songs have potential, the concept has potential, but she didn't have the time. She was devoted to W.E. and had a deadline to release music (the superbowl) so it would be like releasing an album out of the songs you've made halfway through the normal album creation process. There's enough to fill a tracklist, but not provide a distinct or meaningful collection together. If they had the time to hone her vocals, fix up some production issues, the mastering is kinda bleh... It would've been understood a lot better. As it stands it's kind of a shamble.
Still a better listen than Hard Granny.
Alan is going to punch you in the mouth over that last bit
But you're absolutely right. It was a rushed process in the end and the result is an album that *starts* to have a point of view at times but is never able to commit because it's in an arrested state of "getting there."
That being said, I wonder what might have been left on the cutting room floor had they been able to really go down a certain lane.

I'm trying to find out who you are since you mentioned you're from Chicago. Do you go to the Madonnarama parties? I want to go so badly, I hear they're lots of fun.
Basically I was trying to creep through my FB friend's list of friends I have from Chicago lol.

Erotica - Fever (DYDI? Is NOT a song )
Like a Prayer -Love Song
Ray of Light - To Have And Not To Hold
Confessions - Push
Hard Candy -Spanish Lesson / Rebel Heart - Body Shop
Removing one song is easy because almost every album has at least one "troll song" on it anyway.
Little Star, I Love New York, Nobody's Perfect, I'm So Stupid, Don't Stop, Did You Do It?

Frankly the demos that she passed on were kind of interesting, if a little dated now. Still, Superstar, TUTR and GMAYL were huge mistakes when she had these kind of bops at her fingertips.
Erotica | I'd only acknowledge Did You Do It? in order to cast it off the record.
Bedtime Stories | Ugh Survival and I'm realizing that the other day we more or less played this game so let me just go off into a corner and be embarrassed
Ray of Light - Little Star
Like a Prayer - Love Song
Bedtime Stories - Forbidden Love
Erotica - Did You Do It?
Confessions on a Dance Floor - I Love New York
