Last week and this week have been so bad for me I'm glad the deadline is on Friday.
I'm not sure which label I'll go with yet but this challenge looks fun. I would lean towards Matty but my pop songs haven't been received that well so I'll prolly try something different
It's amazing how even though near every single description for what the artist is looking for is "personal", I still don't think my song is really "perfect" for any one label. I could just write something that I think would be one, but I think it's important to send this one I have in particular.
I want people writing for me to also keep in mind that the band wanted different kinds of songs. The three main types I listed were songs for alternative radio hits, songs that were a little darker for album tracks and a couple songs about struggles as an artist. I'm getting the sense that most of you writing for Tymphonic are doing the second option so obviously I'd be forced to select less entries. I don't want to fake you guys out; if it were my way, everyone would have a success this round.

You know what, regardless of what happens I really like my song. I may not get hired and end up being eliminated, but at least I stepped out of my comfort zone on this.
Oh, and I decided to go with Truth Records. Even though I'm basically 100% positive I'm being told to use that label as a form of sabotage.
Which album were you listening to? Or was it just standalone songs?
2001 self-titled
More Than A Woman will probably be the biggest influencer for my song. I'm feeling a lot of ideas with it. Maybe that morphed with the style of janet.? I need to get to work!

although she'll be marketed like your typical singer-songwriter, the fact is, she can't write. (And no, she doesn't play the guitar she'll be holding on her album cover.)
Bloomers, please tell me your artist is gay/bisexual
I've written this song from a woman/gay/bi's pov
The artist hasn't publicly confirmed nor denied any orientation but he is open-minded and the statement issued by the label representative read:

so he'd be happy to release a straight-up country song, a song that captures country's story-telling traditions, as long as it sounds like it'd be worth the risk.
so I'd say there is plenty of room for creative license for you to tell a story
