Deep in Riley’s slumber, there lived a dreadful nightmare. Bing Bong, Jangles the clown and a few others are all trapped in the madness of a zombie apocalypse after what seemed like a normal day at school.

As We move toward the door, a loud crash disturbs our routine. We hastily run to the windows curiously to see what had happened. A few teachers run to the scene from the football field. A car had crashed through the schools barrier and into the wall. As they investigate, the children and staff watch. “All right everyone, it’s lunch time, let’s get moving…” Bing Bong says. They stay glued to the windows long enough to see a figure awkwardly limp out of the open door of the steaming crashed vehicle. The coaches can be heard trying to talk or reason with the figure. It lunges at one, tearing at his throat with its teeth. “Everyone away from the windows!” I yell. The children are now crying. I watch in horror as an unidentifiable, sluggish figure takes down another coach. The third coach runs into the building. We wait silently. The intercom comes on air. All that can be heard is muffled scratching and movement. A male voice is heard. “There’s been a terrible accident outside… I-I don’t know what it is. I’m calling the police…I think they’re zombies!” Mere seconds feel like an eternity as everyone waits silently in terror. “Hello? Yes this is-” A loud thud is heard. “Hello? Hello? Sir? Do you need assistance?” The faint voice repeating over the phone sends shudders down my spine as we all wait for a response. Silence. After a few eerie moments, a low muffled groan can be heard over the speakers. The groaning and screaming becomes increasingly louder as it moves closer to the mic. A horrifying crunch and a scream is heard moments before the intercom shuts off. Children are screaming and crying. The teachers and staff move everyone into a class and lock the doors quickly. “All right everyone, we’re on lock down.” I exclaim. “I need everyone to be as quiet and as still as possible under your desks.” Muffled screams and loud footsteps are heard booming throughout the bare hallways. I move some desks and heavy objects in front of the door with help from Big Bong. I try phoning the police. No answer. “They must be… busy?” We wait several moments and try again. No answer. I walk to the door and carefully lift the small window cover just the slightest bit. I peek through the crack and take a look around the halls. Nothing, until suddenly I see shadows moving around the corner. I’m frozen in pure terror as I see them. The unrecognizable bodies of people I once knew limp down the hall, moaning and stumbling into other empty classrooms. The groaning zombies move their way past our room. They attack several doors and break into the rooms. A loud shriek is heard a few doors down. Riley suddenly wakes up in horror, and realizes that it was all just a nightmare.

No man is an island. No one is self-sufficient. Everyone needs to depend on someone else. But what if no one wants to be around you? Nobody likes to be your friend and there’s nothing you can really do about it. That’s the everyday struggle for Riley and she experiences that every day on her own living hell called school. Even on her first day of school, she already experienced how cruel the world could be. She noticed that all the other kids in her class were talking to each other while she was just there, all alone with her humble self. Not even a single kid tried to talk her and that filled her heart with sadness. She felt like the whole world hated her. All the people around her treated her like she didn’t even exist. Days, weeks, months and even years have passed yet things still didn’t change for her. She already got used to being a loner. She doesn’t even remember anymore on when was the last time she smiled or if she even smiled at all.

Lunch time, her most hated part of the day and as usual, no one wanted to sit beside her. I mean, who wants to sit beside a loser? So, she was just there at the back while the others had their own cliques/groups on each table. There was even a time where no seats were available and she just decided to eat on the girls’ restroom inside the cubicle. She barely finishes her meal as always. Things aren’t better at home, either. Her parents are barely home so when she gets home from school, she goes straight to her room and locks the door then sleep.

But one day in school, their teacher introduced this new girl to the whole class. Her name was Rachel She seemed so nice and friendly. Everyone was offering their seats to her. Riley didn’t care that much and said to herself that this girl’s not going to talk to her like most of her classmates so why bother at all. But to her surprise, the Rachel walked towards where she was sitting. The girl asked if she could sit beside her. Riley couldn’t utter a single word so she just nodded. Rachel tried to talk to her and she actually responded to whatever the girl was saying. This really shocked Riley, herself. She felt like Rachel was the ray of sunshine she always needed to end her cloudy/gloomy days. She asked Riley if she wanted to be her friend and she immediately said yes. That put a smile on the girl’s face and Riley smiled back. After all these years, she finally found someone who she can call her friend. She didn’t feel alone anymore. She was extremely happy that day.

Riley and Rachel became the best of friends as months passed by. They were totally inseparable. But we all know that all good things do come to an end. One day, Riley noticed that Rachel wasn’t around. It kinda made her sad but she just said to herself that it was okay, the girl would be in class the next day. Then the next day came, she was there but didn’t even bother to greet Riley. She got really confused. Lunch time, she was gonna talk to her but her jaw dropped when Rachel decided to go with the mean girls’ clique for lunch instead of going with her. This puzzled her a bit more. This behaviour just didn’t really make sense to her. So she followed her to the school canteen. Riley called her name but Rachel didn’t even look at her at all. So, she went up to the mean girls clique’s table and touched her shoulder. The girl held Riley’s hand and said, “Don’t touch me, loser.“ Riley asked her what was happening. She told her that she didn’t wanna be the loser’s best friend anymore. She didn’t wanna be laughed at anymore. She wanted to be part of the cool/popular kids. She told Riley that their friendship is now over. That really crushed Riley. Her best friend, Rachel who taught her the meaning of friendship, dumping her just like that. Tears started rolling down her face but the girl didn’t give a damn. Riley ran away from the canteen sobbing.

She found herself at the rooftop of their school building. The pain she’s feeling right now was just too much. She couldn’t take it any longer. She screamed so loud. Then, she felt a tap from her shoulder. She suddenly found herself in the library. She was with her best friend, Rachel. She asked Riley what was wrong with her. Then she realized that it was all just a nightmare. Riley told her that it was just a bad dream and smiled.

Team #8: Guero & Prismatic

Joy, Sadness and Bing Bong have snuck into Dream Productions in order to scare her awake to get the Train of Thought up and running so that they can get back to Headquarters. They approach the Dream set, which is currently shooting a very soothing dream starring Rainbow Unicorn.

Bing Bong comes up with a plan that a nightmare is the only way to wake Riley up. Joy is up for it, but Sadness, of course, is less than thrilled about the idea. Bing Bong suggests that Joy talk to the producers and tell them what is going on. Joy, a little apprehensive, goes up to the producers, but they don't even give her a second glance.

A bright idea suddenly hits Bing Bong, and he starts to talk about how they'll never get back to Headquarters. Sadness looks up at him with a frown. Bing Bong keeps going, his voice getting louder, talking about how they will never get to see Riley again, how they'll never see her make memories. Sadness begins to bawl. Bing Bong now has the attention of everyone in the room. Bing Bong continues with sad reminders until everyone in the room is crying and holding one another. The producers agree to help the trio with their dream.

The dream starts off with 'Riley' (played as Joy) walking down the street with her best friend 'Meg' (played by Sadness) on a bright sunny day, heading to the indoor skate rink to play some Hockey. She's humming with a smile on her face whens he suddenly hears a crunch coming from under her foot. She lifts up her foot and see's a tiny spider, squished by her foot. 'Riley' screams "Oh no little guy! I'm sorry!" 'Riley' notices that it has suddenly gotten dark, 'Meg' is nowhere to be found, and that she's no longer in her neighborhood but a gloomy forest. 'Riley' then notices a bunch of 'spiders' the size of dogs (played by extras) that have suddenly appeared around her. 'Riley' starts to run, with the 'spiders' on the chase making loud, creepy crawly noises with their legs. 'Riley' keeps running through the forest as the 'spiders' shoot 'spider webs' (actually silly string) at her.

As 'Riley' keeps running, she notices that it's gone quiet. Have the 'spiders' given up? She stops and turns around to see if she was safe. But no! The 'spiders' are now all morphing together to form one 'huge spider' (played as Bing Bong)! 'Riley' runs faster now, as she hears the 'huge spider's' loud footsteps right behind her. 'Riley' keeps running when she see's the end of the forest. If she could only make it out of the forest, she'd be safe! 'Riley' is almost there, when she suddenly falls, face up. The 'big spider' had shot and tangled 'Riley' from moving with its 'spider web' (actually a lasso Bing Bong had thrown)! 'Riley' struggles to break free as the 'huge spider' walks closer, but its no use. The 'huge spider' is right on top of 'Riley' looking like its just about to dig into its meal, when...

The real Riley suddenly awakens... and the whistle of the Train of Thought can be heard just outside of Dream Productions.

10pm

Monsters, Inc. finishes, and Riley’s mom tells her to go to bed.

“That was a great movie, Mom!” Riley exclaims.

“I’m glad you liked it, honey.” Riley’s mom responds.

“The monsters scared me a little though; can I sleep with you guys tonight?” Riley questions.

Riley’s mom laughs, “No sweetie, you’ll be fine. It was just a movie.”

But what if it wasn’t… Riley thinks to herself. Nervous, Riley walks upstairs to her room and gets in her sleeping bag. “Mom, can you tuck me in?”

“Well there’s not much to tuck in, but sure,” Riley’s mom jokes. She wishes their moving truck would just hurry up and get here. “Goodnight sweetie. I love you.”

“Love you too, Mom.”

11pm

Riley falls asleep, and instantly is transported into the scary world of Monstropolis. She knew this would happen. “It’s okay Riley; you can do it,” she tells herself. She walks along the main street for a while until she notices a big warehouse. “OH MY GOSH! This is Monsters, Inc!” Riley can’t believe it, and rushes inside to meet Mike and Sully.

As soon as she goes inside, she realizes that was a bad idea. Mike and Sully aren’t here, and she doesn’t recognize anyone from the movie. She slowly backs away, but someone stops her. “You aren’t going ANYWHERE,” says an ugly creature with a smile on its face.

Eek, what is that thing?! Riley almost dies just from looking at it. She runs down the hallway and comes across a door that leads into what looks to be a weight room. It’s strange, but she has to go somewhere. There appears to be an army of monsters, all doing the same thing. I’ve never seen someone make a face like that…

"Get outta here, kid, before I pick you up and break your bones!" says the lead demon. Riley doesn't have to hear that twice. Immediately she leaves the room, and starts running down the hallway for somewhere else to stay. She spots another room, with a sign that says Kids Only. Hmm, this must be safe…

"Hi, sweetie! What's your name?!"

"Riley, who are you?" The lady tells her,

"I'm just here to get rid of all the bad dreams. Come with me. You see, Riley, in this world, we only accept people for who they really are. We don't judge people no matter how ugly they are. Everyone has something special about them."

"Yes, ma'am." Riley nods her head, although she's incredibly confused right now.

"I'm actually just wearing a mask right now. When I take it off, I want you to say I look pretty, okay?"

"Um, okay..."

"Remember, we don't judge." The lady takes off her mask, and Riley is speechless.

"Well, how do I look? Am I pretty?!"

"Um, you look... you look... I gotta go!" Riley sprints out of the room and down the hallway again. She feels defeated, and thinks it's almost time to give up. Right as she starts to cry, another creature walks up to her.

"Hey kid, whatchu crying for?!"

"I just wanna go home, but I can't find a way out of here" Riley tells the thing.

"Look, if I can make it out of where I was, you can make it out of here."

"Where were you?" Riley questions.

"I don't wanna talk about it. Just know that you should never give up, no matter what. Always believe in yourself. You can do it, kid!" The creature keeps walking, and leaves Riley with more confidence than she ever had.

"I can do this!" Riley continues to run down the hallway, and eventually 1, 2 steps her way into another dimension. Whoa, what's this?

Suddenly an angel appears.

“Don’t worry darling, I’ll save you.” she exclaims. “Come with me, Riley! You will be safe and free from all of these ugly monsters!” Riley notices how stunning the angel is, and quickly follows her. They continue to fly, past the clouds even. She notices that the angel has saved her just like that.

"Thank you so much! What's your name?"

"Just call me Legend. Now, this will be the last time we see each other until you have another nightmare. Try to stay safe, okay Riley? Get some sleep."

"I will! Thanks again, Legend."

"Anytime, sweetie." Legend smiles, and with a snap of her finger the dream is over.

4am

Riley awakes from the nightmare (or was it a dream?) confused. What just happened... Riley tries to forget about all of it, and peacefully goes back to sleep.

The forest seemed full of dangers, where the
trees were walking and sneered, where animals uttered
frantic noises as soon as night fell.
Deep in the forest, there was an old house in the roof rotted stubble, walls covered with moss and unhealthy
viscous contraptions. In this house lived a hideous witch hooked nose covered with red pustules, green, yellow. Her name Bansalt. Her name came from her salt allergy. If she ate, she would lose all her pustules which she held more than anything in the world. She was convinced that her warts made her exceptionally beautiful ... When bored, the Witch Bansalt loved above all to walk in the forest and transform all that it passed under her nose into something smelly and ugly. For example a rabbit dung, a ladybug booger, a pretty daisy toadstool.

Not far from this gloomy forest there it was: San Francisco, just across the bridge
All its inhabitants were familiar with the existence of Bansalt.
Parents forbade their children to approach the
forest and the parks near it, where the witch could transform or worse: eat. To escape the moving in and grief in peace over her old life in Minnesota, Riley and her imaginary protective friend Bing Bong made a big mistake, fled into the forest. As they advanced, the wood was becoming darker and night began to fall. The animals began to utter terrifying sounds and already the trees moved, so the two friends, shivering with fear, no longer found themselves a way back. They walked on, lost in the forest.

Meanwhile, the Bansalt witch was walking in the
forest. She turned when suddenly she heard the sobs
of poor Riley frightened. She said: "owl's my
dinner!" with a malice smile and went to meet them with a
sneer, hooded, her face hidden - "Hello my sweet child, Niark You are lost, niark Follow!
this old woman I am, Come, do not be afraid, I do. do no harm.
You will be warm and safe home." Then Bing Bong's naivety trusted/followed her, happy to have found an adult to help them. Her face hooded, they did not suspect that this old woman was none other than the cruel witch Bansalt. When they came to her house so little reassuring, they saw a seething cauldron in the fireplace and the table was already set. But they quickly noticed that there was only one plate. And when the witch unveiled her hood, they finally realized they were
in the house of a witch, but it was too late. She had locked the door. They were trapped ...

Riley began to cry and shout that she was so afraid,
so afraid! The witch could not bear the cries of the children. Not being able to hear these cries another minute, she went looking for a little quiet in the next room. Bing Bong soon comforted Riley telling her that he knew how to deliver them. He remembered that the witch who lived in the forest was allergic to salt, also he took a box of salt from his magic bottomless bag and poured a pot entirely in the broth that was intended for them. He barely had time to do it, the witch came back. The broth seemed ready, she tasted. But as soon as the first sip is swallowed, she screamed, bubbles coming out of her nostrils. Her beloved pustules began to disappear! She looked at herself in a mirror and saw with horror that her skin became smooth and bright. She looked like a radiant princess.

Panic-stricken, she ran in all directions
screaming:
- "I'm ugly !!" and went out like crazy in the house
with the door open. She had completely forgotten Riley and Bing Bong who fled without further delay. The screams of the witch echoed throughout the forest. -“Vengeance Is Mine, I will repay sweet child!!!!" The day had dawned, they easily found their way and went home. Riley told her parents their misadventure, as soon as she finished, her mom asked her to greet their new neighbours with a pie she just cooked. Riley went knock on the door. A beautiful blonde answered: - "Hello, sweet child."

Martha's Shoes: A Nightmare

She’s in front of a house that seems like hers, but the details are off: the grass in the yard is too high; the trim beneath the roof is baby blue; a large tortoiseshell cat dozes on the front porch, its tail wrapped loosely around its body. Although it looks off, it feels right: Riley feels like she is home.

Stretched out in the front yard, she lazily plucks a dandelion from the yard, then watches an ant crawl up the stem. Suddenly, she hears a sound coming up the sidewalk. -click- -click- -click- -click- Farther down the road, she hears a voice cry out. “Martha! Martha, stop!”

Riley peers out into the street as the -click- -click- -click- grows louder. She sees a woman approaching, her upper body bent slightly backward as if pulled forward by the high heels on her feet. But her face is painted with a sick grin, her eyes are vacant, and her hair frazzled. Riley has a sinking feeling in her gut; the woman’s hollow expression makes her seem lifeless, but the rapid pace at which the shoes carry her forward tell Riley that the woman is coming for her.

Riley leaps from the ground and rushes out onto the sidewalk, running away from the crazed woman. “She’ll never catch me,” she thinks to herself. Logically, she’s probably right—the woman is almost a full block away and Riley is sprinting away from her much faster than the woman is walking. But when she ventures a glance behind her, she sees that the woman is suddenly only half a block away. The next time she looks behind her, the woman is only 20 feet away, close enough that Riley can see the spit dripping from her open mouth and the streaked mascara running down her face.

Riley knows she can’t outpace the woman. She sees the town’s small grocery store on the next corner, so she slips inside, hoping she can lose “Martha” in the store. But once she’s in, she realizes she’s made a mistake: the store is dark, and the first aisle she runs down—a toy aisle—is lit only by the dull glow coming from a stuffed bear with a large plastic heart in its chest. The red heart provides a diffuse red light that Riley runs toward. When she reaches the stuffed animal, she recognizes it. This was a toy she had when she was just a baby. And for a moment, she forgets about the crazed woman chasing her and feels like she is back home.

But as Riley reaches out to touch the bear, it opens its mouth and screams, “Martha? Martha, don’t!” and looks behind Riley’s head with fear in its plastic beady eyes. Riley spins around just in time to see Martha behind her, one of her high-heeled feet raising into the air and flying fast at Riley’s neck—
