Who remembers their very first record? The first one they'd ever owned; the start of a collection. Was it an LP, a 12", or a 7"? When had it been acquired?

Mine was a used but VG+ copy of Madonna's True Blue album, which was given to me in 2010 by one of my mother's friends. Totally a novelty in my collection back then as I didn't start collecting seriously till years later.
ARTPOP was my first. My friends bought me a copy, and I didn't have a player. It went exactly 365 days before I got one, and then I bought soooo many. Idek.

I have a ton of 70s and 80s records of nobodies but I have Off the Wall, Thriller, Bad, Madonna, Like a Virgin, True Blue, She's So Unusual, Prince, Purple Rain, Barbra Streisand's Christmas Album, some Elton John, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Lionel Ritchie, Joni Mitchell, Billie Holiday, Crosby Nash & Young, just a lot of stuff. I hope they all still work.

Not really. I'd just heavily suggest making a Discogs account and finding pressings/releases you want from your faves, etc.
I really want Janet Jackson's discography. I only have Control. But I'm refusing to buy it online cause I know if I walked into a used record shop I'd find more.

You easily find Control and Rhythm Nation. The rest are harder to find. 20 YO, Damita Jo and All For You will have to be bought online. I have all of hers except Design of a Decade of which there's 2 versions
