i just found my old letter i wrote to katy i gave to her the night of my PWT date she really has helped my sadness <3
Dear Katy,
First of all, it’s very strange writing this letter because I don’t know if it’s even going to get to you, and that I feel like I know you, but I don’t really really know you. My name is ------ and this letter, I hope, isn’t a crazy, fan girl, teen bop letter. This letter is me wanting to acknowledge you, not as the biggest pop star in the world, not as my inspiration, not with cameras watching, but as a human being. First and foremost, I’ve been a relatively silent fan since the days you sung songs like “Lost” and “Simple”. One Of The Boys was an amazing era, and I’m so happy you got to show yourself to the world. Teenage Dream is a timeless pop masterpiece that will be appreciated for generations to come as the diary of our teenage lives. During the Teenage Dream era, you literally saved my life (but this isn’t a sob letter, so I’ll touch on that later!). Prism has been a magnificent era, and I’m glad you got to take more creative risks with your artistry and sound. It’s been amazing listening to your growth as I’ve grown myself from a relatively depressed 14 year old boy, to a less sad 18 year old adult. Now that I established some background, I really want to talk about pop itself. I recently read one of your quotes in a Rolling Stone interview, saying that you’re happy to be a full on pop star now because you don’t know if you’ll have that capability to sell out arenas in the future, as you get older, and as you truly return to your acoustic roots. I’ve noticed patterns of this return such as the release of Unconditionally. Katy, one thing I wanted to say is I’m sorry. I’m sorry this era didn’t necessarily go as planned with Unconditionally not being appreciated and the general public devouring Dark Horse (both great songs I promise). I know this industry can be a sad one. I want you to know that at least one person knows about the days where getting out of bed can be nearly impossible, or the days when facing cameras and paparazzi yell bizarre things irritate you to hell and back, or when getting up on stage and entertaining thousands of people beyond belief is emotionally draining. I both apologize and thank you for doing these things. And if there are any doubts about success with a rebranding back to acoustic, know that, you’ll always have one fan, whether it be in a stadium, arena, or café, in the background cheering you on. I’m so relieved you “let the light in” and I hope you are in a place that is comfortable and satisfactory. As I was saying earlier, I’m so happy you stayed because if you hadn’t I don’t know what I would have done. A few years ago (2011; the start of the Teenage Dream era!) I was hit with this bizarre depression that sucked the life out of everything, and similarly, I was incredibly close to giving up on everything including my family, friends, school, and life. I listened to Teenage Dream, half by accident, half due to my familiarity with One of The Boys, and I fell in love all over again. Teenage Dream showed me that there is happiness to be found in life. I think it was the song itself Teenage Dream that put me in a state of euphoria, that showed that I have to keep going because life in the suburbs, surrounded my upper middle class zombies, is dull and not an accurate representation of how life should be for a young, healthy teenager. Life should be filled with unforgettable moments, states of bliss, no regrets (with boundaries of course), and friends and family who radiate positive energy. I see you on stage, and I know that you are inherently an amazing person filled with strength and genius. I listen to your music, I watch your performances, I think about the light you’ve given to so many people, and I get the strength to keep going everyday. Some days, I don’t’ want to get out of bed, and some days are definitely worst than others. But I know, that if the world’s biggest pop star who has thousands of jobs, fans, and lives in her hands can do it, and do it with a smile, I know that if I really try and give it my all like you, I can too. First I would like to thank Katy Perry. An over the top pop star who made it big and delivers amazing messages and songs. But more importantly, I’d like to thank Katheryn. A small town girl who just works her butt of in order to help people stay, and highlight the beauty of life. Thanks for being my light, I can’t wait to see you tonight, the California Dreams Tour was amazing, and I know you’ll put on one hell of a show for them as well. I’ll be watching, singing, and dancing right there with you!
Hey guys! I'm the greek editor of New & Good at Napster. I received the playlist of the next week's "releases", and "By the grace of God" is on. Maybe that means that it's actually a single!
That means she will be nominated at 2016 Grammy..

California Gurls is old enough to give me nostalgic throwbacks.
Just put it on and I was instantly taken back to walking home from my last exam under the blazing sun a few days after it leaked singing the lyrics loud and proud.
Can't believe it's only 3 months away from being half a decade old. My baby's career is all grown up.
watching this gives me so much life, she used to be so crazy back when she didnt think that she was too old to be a 25-30 year old XD, that party looks amazing. (ignore the obvious KP3D exposé hehe)
makes me think about all the CDT/KP3D footage that will never be released XD

I was a junior in high school and my friends and I went hard on that song. We didn't even know at first that it was the girl that sang I Kissed a Girl and Hot N Cold, it was just such a perfect song!
