I feel kinda sad that I never have a full college and university experience like most people I started college in winter term so there was no activities, and now when I go to university I can't even attend the frosh week

I've always been wondering that too, because I've never seen it mentioned in US movies
I was gonna ask if anyone has to buy it, but then I changed it because I felt stupid if it's an universal thing

Oh yeah, we called it SOAR here but I'm used it just being called Welcome Week.

I'm not sure what kit you would need to get through it though. I mean, it was six years since I did my SOAR but we just stayed in our dorms, then did activities throughout campus but everything was free.

I will let the rich kids enjoy that week then Even if I have a job right now I probably won't spend that much money to go to some university events I suck at socializing anyway, so that would be such a waste of money

btw, is it true that most Americans won't even stay at home when they go to college/university? all I've seen in movies are students living in dorms or frats together meanwhile, most of us in Toronto stay at home if we can to save money

getback, if you can, you should attend. You're already at a disadvantage by not living on campus because usually that's where you make all your friends even if you aren't trying.

Some of my best friends now are people I lived with on the same floor my freshman year of college because everyone is most eager to meet new people then. I'm sure you'll be fine though and meet people in class.

If you can, study abroad though. Sometimes you can find programs through your school that aren't expensive (or outside of school like I did and paid less for my semester abroad in Madrid and had the credits transferred).
