There was no risk in that whole singles package, from the song itself which is blatantly Poker Face 2.0. To the video, which is all weird and fashion with no real means of interpretations. These was all the things that fascinated the world.
She can make a song like Bad Romance (which means like Poker Face), but isnt that what she did with Judas or Born This Way? Both songs carries the structure of Bad Romance and the signature glamorous sounds etc, but see where she ended up.
She then went on to catch the Adele train with piano driven songs The Edge of Glory and You and I. TEOG was released too immaturely and You and I would have never been released if Adele flopped.
The only thing she can now do is, give up all the preaching, she is alienating her audience. (And you can actually see that's exactly what shes been doing for sometime) and release an album more radio friendly, but not looking desperate by making it have some meaning (like she did during The Fame and Monster).
