The problem being that the game would be less exciting. I've been through XY at least 15 times, but I can't say I've been through ORAS more than 5 times. Perhaps because it was a remake so it was less exciting in the first place, but the datamine definitely had some influence on that too.

I have no qualms with revealing tons of info like XY because there were still plenty of things to discover and find for yourself when playing through the game. With ORAS, there was nothing.

I know GF is sketchy when it comes to logic sometimes, but I don't think they'd release a demo knowing ORAS was datamined, because they'd surely want to keep some Gen 7 Pokemon hidden until release for further reveals. Surely they're smart enough to know this.

tbh true. I just know I won't be able to stop looking tho. Same for the 5 days before the Europe release which is why I bought a 2DS to play it on from the Aus Eshop

Japan's Direct is 42 minutes long!

Idk why anyone wouldn't want the megas leaked. I never would have raised a beedrill or Mawile or whatever else without know ahead of time they wouldn't be crap. I'd much rather be able to plan my team in advance than experience the ~surprise~ when my dunsparce turns out to still be useless and yeah, one can always avoid reading spoilers.
