I don't see any way for this not to be Trump vs. Clinton. Marco Rubio is gone and Ted Cruz is much lower on the polls than Trump.

The Democratic establishment will go for Clinton, Sander's ideas on social issues in general are very controversial and pro-capitalist voters would run off to Trump were Bernie to get the nomination. Clinton is the only shot for the Democrats to win this.

I agree with a lot of this. I think Bernie could still win the general, but Hillary would have a bigger winning gap.

Probably not the best thing to say, but I'm glad the GOP are blocking Merrick. By all accounts a decent man and level-handed judge, but I want a liberal on the bench. Best case scenario would be the GOP delaying hearings until November, have Obama withdraw the nomination before the GE, and Hillary win.

I just want Hillary. I never cared much who challenged her in the primaries, who she's face in the general - she needs to win.

I had my two months of Berniemania (hard to believe, I know) that ended with the first debate, but otherwise I've been focused on getting Hillary elected for years.

While I agree with wanting a very liberal justice to be appointed, it's still a risk. Hillary isn't a guarantee yet. Kasich could challenge her if there's a brokered convention and the GOP gets behind him - or Romney, since at a contested convention that's entirely possible. She'd crush Cruz, but Trump is a strange beast with pretty unpredictable appeal - he could actually very narrowly win, or get crushed in a massive landslide.

Plus, Merrick is such a good man and I can't help but feel for him after watching him actually get emotional during his speech. He doesn't deserve to end up just a political pawn, and he's one of the most qualified men out there for the job.

I always preferred Hillary to Bernie, even though I always thought he brought up important issues. I didn't "flip" on that issue.

I still would prefer a Sanders presidency but I know it's not going to happen at this point. It might be my usual over-trust of the experts but I honestly think that's it for him. I think Hillary needs to move on and start campaigning for the GE as soon as possible.

It would have been nice for Sanders to carry on but it's way too late and he's far behind in the delegate count.

She can't focus on the GE yet - she needs to seal up NY and Cali, or at least keep him lower than 58% in those two states and the other big ones.

Focusing too much on Trump risks allowing Bernie to surge and threaten her lead.

Disgusting stuff from Sanders supporters. Southern states = Confederacy? We get the message loud and clear. The Sanders campaign is targeting white states. Yet another step towards demeaning AA voters. Without AA voters, a Dem would never get the White House.

Of course you casually forgot to mention Massachussets, Ohio and Illinois.

The irony is that Hillary won the "confederate" states because of the black vote. Neveda, Iowa, and Missouri also weren't confederate states. (MO was a border state)

Plus, if Clinton supporters stay home or vote in Republican primaries that could also hurt her. I don't think there is that many open primaries left. Still it shows that painting Hillary as "inevitable" could only back fire.

I don't like Bernie Sanders mostly because of his views on taxes. As it turned out, I share many non-economical views with him, but fiscal issues are way too important ifor me to ignore.

I mostly lie with Republicans due to views on low taxes, guns and social welfare. I'd be most happy if a moderate Republican or a Libertarian won. However, a Clinton victory sounds acceptable to me.
