I'm not sure when or where it started. I think it was building up and I didn't notice till now, but Hotel at some point seems to have taken some cues from Coven's book. It's almost a little too crazy to the point of feeling haphazard and frantic. We have one episode left, and I'm just noot convinced everything is going to tie up 100% cleanly. I could be wrong. We don't have eight billion plotholes, none of the characters are unwatchably inconsistent (though some of the characterization feels a little... jarring and unplanned), but it's got that same insane feeling of "a bunch of crazy s*** is happening and oh yeah we've got plot too!" Plus, the pacing is just off (we're JUST getting Sally's backstory with one episode left?)
And I knew this was going to be a problem but early on, but everyone being deranged and psychotic like in Coven probably ties into. We don't even have a Cordelia. The ep was named Battle Royale and... that's pretty accurate. Everyone is pretty much trying to murder everyone (or at least SOMEONE at this point) It's just a little too bonkers, especially since it seemed fairly put together at the start. And not too much criticism, but while this IS really funny and entertaining...... the tone seems to have done a total 180 from the dark and creepy start to a campy, loony finale build up. I enjoy both, but the season is feeling almost as confused as I am. Ryan NEVER f***ing plans ahead
