To be honest, the only reasoning I can see behind Adele attending is because it's the closest awards show to the release of her new single. The album is coming in November, which means we should have something by the end of September as far as a lead single goes. If she wanted to surprise perform something, the VMAs would be the only big event coming up in music to do it at, but it's not really a classy event. It's kind of a joke now, to be completely honest.
