All the female characters that ranked high in MK9 are characters you also played in storymode. Mileena, Sindel & Sheeva were NOT played in storymode.
As far as Mileena always playing 2nd fiddle to Kitana... not always. In MKA Mileena was superior. Thru MKDA to MKU, Mileena was superior. MKG was equals. MKII-MKT, Kitana had the upper hand.
Basing who's more popular in MK9 by the website isn't fair. Kitana is played in storymode while Mileena is not.
Regardless if Mileena has a crappy storyline, she's an equal (and in some cases better) than Kitana.

In MKA Mortal Kombat Armageddon was a damn joke and a rushed mess. In MKD, she was only superior cause Kitana died in MKDA. MKG, Kitana was superior. Even in MKA, remember their endings? Mileena became Beautiful and Kitana became Ugly. Mileena reigned Edenia and Kitana went crazy. Kitana's ending gave her a connection to the elder gods and she became their champion and formed a group to squash the forces of evil. Mileena has, and always will depend on Kitana for any kind of story.

No. You're wrong. Kratos of course is a gimmick character, but Mileena, a fan favorite and supposedly Massive and important, should be higher than him. Especially since she was the first female confirmed and one of the main 6 they used to promote the game. There is absolutely NO excuse you can take the game because she was the poster girl for this game.

We know this. But people here have a hard time understanding that Mileena is totally irrelevant to the story and basically a trifling ass figure that can be replaced. Besides her fighting, she's pointless without Kitana, especially since Kitana is dead now.
Once again, Kitana can still very much be in the game. Especially since Tanya is in the game now, and there can be Edenian arguments. I mean, Kitana has died before, but she can easily come back to life with the simple "Quan Chi resurrected Kitana to fight for him and take over Edenia as his slave." or something, then she breaks off from his curse and ends up alongside with Raiden or something like that. The team can come up with something original for ha.
The rumored 14 new characters is gonna be so messy. I'd prefer they re-vamp characters from MK4 and on, rather than add so many new characters, cause everytime they do, they make a couple misses.
MK4 had a couple of misses; Kai, Jarek & Meat
MKDA had even more misses; Hsu Hao, Mavado, Mokap, Drahmin, Frost and arguably Nitara (potential, but executed kinda stupid)
MKD had the most misses; Kira, Kobra, Darrius, Dairou, Ashrah (once again, poor execution) & Shujinko (despite having so much presence in story, he was average and unoriginal and boring)
Most of the crap characters were probably because of time constraints at Midway, but at the same time IDK. It's happened to often. At this point, all characters seem interesting (although DV doesn't seem like she really fits for some reason). But knowing the team, they're gonna rush some characters which will lead to a bad reaction.
10-12 new characters would have been better, but 14 is really pushing it There's gonna be backlash for sure, especially since veterans are probably gonna be DLC so people buy it, which I don't agree with. I understand why they have DLC, but it just seems unfair that if I wanted to play as Kitana, Kung Lao or Ermac, I would have to pay instead of just having them there from the start

I wouldn't say Jade is really underrated. She gets a really good amount of attention. I love her in the story and in the game all together. She's always been my 2nd fave female in the series. Love her in MKD especially.
I never understand why she was such a low-tier character until I realized her mix-up game was horrible and her moves all started up so slow. They should've given her more buffs (but they did try)

And please... don't post your stats like they mean something. Everyone knows player stats reset themselves when MK9 changed online servers to the ghetto ones they're on now.
There are not a FRACTION of good players online anymore (like Nacho_BiZ) like there used to be...

I personally don't think Mileena is irrelevant to the story. There are so many side stories within Mortal Kombat. Kitana is simply the daughter of Kahn, there isn't much to her either. MtThe Main story has always been Li Kang being the winner of the MK tournaments. Second comes Scorpion Vs Sub-Zero which hasn't changed since the 1st game. I'm glad MKX is finally pushing the story forward because its been stuck for years now.
I agree with you. I hope that the characters are quality. I'm not here for a bunch of fillers either.
I'm honestly ok with the the classics sitting it out this time(mk1-3). They'll come back in future games without a doubt. I do however wish that the few quality new characters from the 3D made it into the game but I don't think the have a chance.

I've seen them online. There's Mr. Mileena, yes, and also a couple others. That's not saying much though. Kitana is higher tier than Mileena and with my experience online, I've seen more Kitana players than Mileena. There's also Osu 16 Bit who is a Kitana main and one of the best.
Girl... Freddy Krueger had a commercial on the TV when he premiered. Boon also confirmed he sold the best out of all of the DLC. But you're missing the point. Mileena has one of the biggest fanbases of the series, yet she's below the rest of the cast. Once again, she was PROMOTED and the poster girl for the series.
I know they reset, but those are the updated ones with the old tag matches LOL. I only played maybe 15 Tag matches since the servers changed to the trashy awful ones they have now.
