Saw people discussing Candyshop a few pages back. One of his best songs and actually iconic.

TOP 30 PERFORMANCES OF 2014
1. Julianne Moore, "Still Alice"
A keystone performance. "Still Alice" could easily fly off the rails into pure, misrerabilist schmaltz. And yet Moore provides it with life, a fighting chance, never willing to throw in the towel, even if it means lying to her kids. Detailing the plight of a college professor stricken with early on-set Alzheimer's, the film is a peaceful rumination on certain death and disintegration. The actress undoes everything she's ever done on screen, metaphorically stripping herself bare to become less and less capable at "delivering" dialogue. Moore finds a rhythm to scenes where she's attempting to relearn or remember the important factoids of life. It's like an acting exercise… until it's the difference between life and brain death.
27. Julianne Moore, "Maps to the Stars"
Someone was bound to confront the Lindsay Lohans, Kim Kardashians and Nicolas Cages of the world in a feature-length satire. Who thought it would Julianne Moore? As the downward-spiraling Havana Segrand, Moore captures the disturbing depth of superficiality. Havana attacks, badgers or screws anything that moves, hoping to relaunch her career and escape her mother's ghost. When she celebrates the death of a competing actress, Moore goes full "Mommie Dearest," a terrifying Cronenbergian image right up there the "Videodrome" hand.
