Madonna is sitll considered a legend, but there wasn't NEARLY as much backlash as there is now before, like, 2010. There was some when Erotica was released, but not as much now. Stop doing the same thing you're trying to accuse me of. Michael was RUTHLESSLY dragged by everyone right up until his death, mostly for the pedophilia case, and then when he died, everyone started respecting him.
