Gabourey ain't doing all that bad, depends on your expectations I guess. But yeah, Lupita kinda too black for the industry. Like I said, it really is up to Jolie's adopted children to break down the racial barriers in Hollywood.

And are you talking about that 9 year old last year? She didn't have a legitimate chance last year, while Lupita is literally neck and neck with Jennifer Lawrence - who people are questioning whether or not will be honored so soon after winning. The others don't have a chance.

Lawrence did play her best role as Ree in WB but she hadn't a chance vs. Natalie because of exposure and Natalie's pregnancy.

12 years ... did campaign great in the US but in Europe we don't know much about the film. The US is much more interested in WW 2 in Europe than Europe is interested in the US slavery.

If Lupita wins then because of a big lead on the US voters, could be, I don't mind.

The thing about Lupita is that she is the type to be typecast. Gabourey has this likable, comical thing where she can expand a bit, even if its just small. Lupita does, however, have directing work, and she has a chance to be a fashion icon, too.
