I spent 1 hour trying to evolve Darumaka because I love
how its evolution can change its form when its HP is at half ( -> )
and the hoe doesn't have the "Zen Mode" ability, it evolved with "Sheer Force" instead.

You have to get a rage candy bar and talk to the statues in the Desert Resort

Why couldn't they just get the pokemon to a safe place then come back to Jessie & James later.
