I don't know why you guys are fretting about hair-flipping comments. Haters are gonna hate no matter what. They don't actually have any reason to, so they focus on the trivial nonsense like hair-flipping or facial reaction shots. If Taylor had done Beyonce's routine, or did what Pink did with the acrobatics, or had red dust sprayed on them like Imagine Dragons they would be hating on her for that instead. Pay it no mind. These people have no influence on Taylor's career because they don't buy her music anyway. So who actually cares? They are irrelevent.
You want to know why the media is seemingly focussing on Taylor? She is the biggest American artist and it's not even close. Due to this, stories about Taylor bring attention. She can literally just walk from a car into the gym and that will make the gossip papers all the world! Every day, Taylor goes to the gym while in LA, and the media in my country reports on this and her outfits. Every day for a freakin' week. Same story, different outfit. So when she flips her hair, dances at an award show, says STFU to Selena, or almost wins the AOTY then this is going to get reported too. Taylor posts a picture on Instagram of a bunch of flowers in a vase. This will get reported as news. Taylor is photographed speaking next to Jared Leto in a party, this makes the entertainment news.
There is just a great thirst for Taylor related news and the gossip media just need content and more content in order to generate media hits. If they can spin the story into a controversial angle, then they can boost the comments and page views. They recycle old stories and repeat bits of current news with old news, just as an excuse to get another webpage up and have another photo slideshow. Some of them are negative, some of them are positive. They are not going to stop because the media constantly need more content and Taylor is the biggest American artist.
If you look at every Best Dressed article for events that Taylor attends, she is inevitably is mentioned first. Her picture is usually the one used. Her name is in the headline, the URL, and in the opening couple of paragraphs in the article. She will always be features amongst the best-dressed. This again, is because Taylor is the biggest artist in America. While this remains the case, there will always be an abundance of media stories about Taylor, good, bad or neutral. It is something we need to accept, even if we don't like it.
