Did you listen carefully to Lana's songs?
I've never heard her screaming so tryhard over plain piano notes. Her voice sounds a lot more mellow and soothing, she doesn't need to raise her voice to prove people that she can sing, plus there's no need to overproduce her songs. I've had hopes for Gypsy at the beginning of the song but it got worse with every second.

I think Gypsy is seeing more negative reactions just cuz GaGa didn't deliver vocally. She was predominately sharp throughout the song and especially on all her belts. I'm sure the studio version will slay. Much more than By The Grace of God.
