I feel like Take Me to Church could have been a Madonna song. She loves to mix sex and religion. It's right up her alley. Plus a video about equality/gay rights in which she herself does not appear would have done wonders to fight the notion that she's narcissistic and self-obsessed.
This is assuming she did something about her voice.
