Pop is still a pretty big genre so it's safe to assume the album category will make it to the main show -especially with Katy, Miley, Ariana and the likely sweeper Sam nominated.

I saw the seating chart...I understand the appeal of sam smith.
I STILL think that Katy has a chance to win best pop vocal album.
I think Iggy and Charli have best pop duo...i see the seating chart with them next to one another and for sure that moment will be televised.

In a perfect world, Katy and Iggy will come away winners.

At least Adele sold 10 million albums, had great critic review, was different than the rest of the pop scene, and GP approval.

Roar was fine, #1.
Dark Horse as second single in September, slays through April. #1.
This Is How We Do in May, slays Summer 2014. Top 5.
Birthday in August, has a good video. Top 5.
Unconditionally in November to end the era. Top 10.

Uncle wouldn't have gone Top 10, it received huge promo but the GP wasn't here.

It had a messy release tbh. Roar, DH and WoA were all out and it was only released a week before the album. By the time it started picking up on radio people were just buying the album instead of the single. I never understood why she released it so close to the album release. But yeah, it wasn't a very strong single choice. But coming off of 4 Top 10 hits it could have stood a chance. Or it could have been her Marry The Night hihi

I agree that it was too close to the album release but she couldn't have released it sooner, Roar was still massive. It would have been like Dark Horse/Birthday. I think there needed to be more time between Roar and the album release, or just wait until a few weeks after the album to release the official second single since they'd already done the promo singles.

But, really, there is no scenario in which Uncle could have been a Top 5 single. They tried their damnedest.

If they released it to iTunes the same day they released it to radio rather than waiting a week until the album came out she could've easily gotten a Top 10 from it, top 5 wouldn't have been out of the question. Most of the ~350k people who bought the album the next week would've bought the single the week before.

Its too clunky a song to be successful outside of being released prior to the album coming out. Probably her least radio friendly song after the "controversy" around I Kissed a Girl.

Very true. It would have went straight to #1 on Itunes. Although it could have just pulled a "Judas" except bigger of course.

Pretty sure she released it early because she wanted to release it on John's birthday, that pretentious douche ruined everything. I hope he gets hit by a car and put in a permenant coma
