Ike Bart: Welcome to DRL for September 11, 2003. Today, Rachel Stevens performs her first solo single "Sweet Dreams (My LA Ex)" live. My co-host for today is Ronan Harris of
VNV Nation.
Ronan: This music on this countdown sure is different from the music me and Mark Jackson do.
Ike Bart: There are so many songs that I like on this countdown, but none of them sound remotely like my favorite genre of techno, EBM. Kicking off the top forty is Jane's Addiction with "Just Because."
40. Jane's Addiction "Just Because" (21, 2)

31. Fountains Of Wayne "Stacy's Mom" (27, 2)
Ike Bart: That was Fountains of Wayne with "Stacy's Mom." A hot joint sure to make my own countdown. If you could do a cover or remix of any song that made the countdown so far, what would it be?
Ronan: That would be a tough question. Probably "Going Under" by Evanescence because this song has those dark elements present in most of VNV's songs. I could also go with "Frantic" by Metallica as well.
Ike Bart: I'd probably do a remix or cover of "Stacy's Mom," that Rose Falcon joint, "The Young and the Hopeless," and a bunch of artists yet to come. I'd try to put a techno or dance twist to them if possible. Preferably sounding like industrial electronic music.
Ronan: Even though I don't know them, here is Precious with "Say It Again" coming in at number thirty.

Ike Bart: I just heard the song by Maria last night on the radio. Today, we have the premiere of Linkin Park's new single "Numb." Here it is.
*Ike Bart plays Linkin Park "Numb"*
Ike Bart: At number twenty-three, the band sure has a name that sounds like a death metal band. Up next is my favorite new joint from Outkast, Andre 3000's solo project "Hey Ya."
