To be fair, the album is kind of what some people may call a grower. It's a little on the unconventional side: there's woozy synths all over the place, Victoria has a really husky voice, and a lot of the album floats by without much in the way of dynamics.
It's not very immediate, although I'd argue most of these albums aren't immediate and deserve time to let them sink in minus Vampire Weekend which is the most poppy and instantly accessible.
Personally, I've tried to get into Beach House since I downloaded Teen Dream in early 2011 and Bloom whenever it came out, but after a dozen or so listens, they just aren't for me. I always get nauseous listening to them and the general woozy sound they have, but you might like them!
