iTunes is a rollig chart, meaning it monitors downloads in a period of time.
The only explanation for the update is that the time iTunes monitors went down from say a 72/48 hour chart to a 24 hour chart. This means only downloads from the last 24 hours are now counted so songs that were going down on the old pop bars have gone down more drastically and songs that were gaining have gained more drastically.
This explains the fact that songs like RR/FG/3/BR that were gaining before have now moved to the top as the older downloads that were keeping other songs above them don't count anymore. And the reverse of this is that songs that were gradually going down due to lack of recent downloads have now gone lower down as the downloads keeping them at the top no longer count e.g. Paparazzi (-25)/Tik Tok (-10)/Sexy Bitch (-25)

Yeah I was going to come onto that so that stans don't get their hopes up too high. Songs will need to be monitored more closely now to get a true representation of sales.

the two songs that were released yesterday were russian roulette and favourite girl, right? both songs were rising constantly until RR stuck at two with just little bars behind fireflies, right?

It might not update more frequently as the updates were pretty frequent, the updates just weren't that noticable due to the longer time span so a song needed more downloads/more times to make any real progress.

I think so, it's just the fact she still wasn't #1 on the old, longer, chart makes me jubious of her sales.
