I disagree. She's got the rest of her life to work for it. Cher got her her biggest hits last decade and this decade.

Besides, if it's an excellent album, that's all that matters, not the charts.

It's actually kinda true.

People tend not to take artists, especially female artists over the age of 40 seriously.

I think Mariah has been acting so childish and dressing like a 15-year old, because she realizes that she's getting old and not only does she want to convince her audience that she's still fresh, but herself.

I think Mariah's problem is that she released Obsessed to iTunes way too early. She should've let radio test the waters first, and then let anticipation sell the song instead of on the basis that her name's Mariah Carey.

Record labels lose a lot of money when they do that. Besides, she's no longer Def Jam's top priority, Rihanna is.

They've already lost a ton of money, it would've made more sense to wait to get Mariah to the top, then to let her look like she's flopping right now. Rihanna's got a long career ahead of her. Def Jam needs to milk Mariah now while she's still embraced by radio.
